Beacoland Turns 6!

Beacoland’s 6th Anniversary Weekend & Minecraft 26.1.2 Update

Today, Beacoland will be updating to Minecraft 26.1.2 alongside scheduled maintenance and backend improvements across the network.

Over the last few weeks, we’ve also been working on a number of things behind the scenes preparing for something special happening this weekend.

And now we can finally talk about it.

This weekend officially marks 6 years of Beacoland.

What started as a small group of friends somehow grew into this incredible community of over 2,800 members. Thousands of builds, projects, events, resets, and memories later, here we are six years on.

To celebrate, we’ll be hosting a special anniversary event weekend inspired by some of the older Beacoland traditions and events, alongside something completely new too.

This weekend is really just about celebrating the community and looking back at how far the server has come together over the last six years.

Beacoland 6th Anniversary Weekend

To celebrate the anniversary, we’ll be hosting a special triple-header event weekend inspired by classic Beacoland events from older seasons.

Nautilus Race

Friday 22nd May | 6pm GMT

Unlike the other anniversary events, Nautilus Race is something completely new.

This is a fast-paced event focused around movement, pressure, and surviving the course faster than everyone else.

More information about how the event works will be shared on Discord closer to the weekend, but expect chaos.

Season 1 Style PvP Tournament

Saturday 23rd May | 6pm GMT

We’re bringing back the very first competitive event ever hosted on Beacoland, a classic solo PvP tournament inspired directly by the original Season 1 tournament back in 2020.

For the anniversary, the arena has been completely rebuilt and reworked, featuring:

  • The return of the original Season 1 battleground layout
  • A rebuilt outer arena inspired by older seasons
  • Updated visuals and spectator areas
  • A nostalgic tournament format based on the original event

Back in Season 1, winners walked away with enchanted Netherite weapons and Diamond Blocks.

This year, we’ll be keeping that in mind, and providing the winners with netherite ingots and Beacoins added in too.

Our Season 1 Arena:

Thimble

Sunday 24th May | 6pm GMT

Another Beacoland classic returns.

For anyone unfamiliar with Thimble, the idea is simple.

Players jump from the tower and try to land safely in the water below. After every successful jump, a lily pad gets placed onto the water, making the landing area smaller and smaller each round.

As the game goes on, things get stressful very quickly.

Miss the water, clip a lily pad, panic mid-air… and you’re out.

We’ll likely be running multiple rounds before a final showdown to decide the anniversary champion.

It’s simple, chaotic, and somehow always turns into complete panic by the final few players.

The Cake-zebo™

Right next to the arena in the Gaming District, we’ve also built a brand new community meet-up area for the anniversary weekend.

A gazebo…

With a cake on top.

Naturally.

The Cake-zebo™ will be the main gathering spot throughout the weekend for screenshots, hanging out, celebrations, and general chaos hosted by TheCaplan.

Minecraft 26.1.2 Update

As announced yesterday, Beacoland is updating to Minecraft 26.1.2 today alongside scheduled maintenance and backend improvements.

The update includes the latest vanilla features, fixes, improvements, and optimisations from Mojang, alongside some important long-term improvements on our side as well.

Because of that, the server will likely be offline for a few hours while everything is completed. We’ve already done a lot of preparation behind the scenes to try and keep downtime as low as possible.

There isn’t a fixed maintenance time yet, but Beaco will give plenty of warning in Discord before the server goes offline.

Estimated downtime: Up to around 3 hours

You can read more about the Minecraft updates here:

We’ll also be updating the official Beacoland mod pack to support 26.1.2 as part of this update.

Expanded Emote System

Alongside the update, we’ll also be making some changes to the /emote system.

Originally, emotes were almost entirely locked behind Tier 4 Supporter, but after spending more time working with the permissions system, we realised it made much more sense to spread them across different ranks instead.

Going forward:

  • All Supporter tiers will now receive some basic emotes
  • Colour emotes will begin unlocking across both Supporter and Voting ranks
  • Tier 4 will still be where the more advanced emotes start
  • Tier 5, 6, and 7 will receive additional exclusive emotes
  • Voting Ranks will also slowly unlock their own emotes over time

For example, a Tier 1 Supporter may unlock /emote yellow to match their rank colour.

The main goal with this change is to make the feature more accessible overall, especially with the addition of Voting Rank emotes.

Previously, the system was fairly limited in how emotes could be assigned, meaning they were effectively either fully enabled or not available at all. After spending more time working with the permissions system, we’re now able to properly split emotes across different ranks and progression paths instead.

We’ll also continue improving older emotes and adding new ones gradually over future updates.

Thank You ❤️

It’s honestly hard to properly explain what six years of Beacoland means to us.

From the early days of Season 1, to giant community projects, server launches, resets, events, and everything in between, this community is what made Beacoland what it is today.

Whether you joined six years ago or six days ago, thank you for being part of it!
