Survival Server Rules

4 min read

Player Rules #

1. Respect All Players & Team Members #

  • Beacoland has a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech.
  • Any use of slurs, derogatory language, toxicity, or harassment—whether directed at a person or not—will result in a ban.
  • This includes usernames containing offensive or disrespectful terms.

2. No Griefing #

  • Griefing of any kind is strictly prohibited.
  • This includes altering, destroying, or modifying any builds, bases, or structures that do not belong to you.
  • All builds are private unless explicitly marked otherwise.

3. No Stealing #

  • Beacoland is a trust-based server with no land or chest claims.
  • Do not take anything that does not belong to you.
  • Chests, bases, farms, and shops are private unless clearly marked as “free” or “free to take.”
  • Raiding bases or farms is not allowed under any circumstances.

4. Hacking & Mods #

  • The use of hacked clients, X-ray, fly hacks, or any other unfair advantage is prohibited.
  • Abuse of the server seed or the use of unapproved mods is not allowed.
  • See the list of pre-approved mods here: Beacoland Client-Side Mods.

5. No Duping (Except TNT) #

  • TNT duping is the only form of duplication that is allowed.
  • No other item duplication is permitted.

6. Consent-Based PvP #

  • Beacoland is a co-op-focused server, not a PvP server.
  • You may not attack or kill another player unless they have given clear permission.

7. No Spamming or Advertising #

  • Spamming will result in a warning. Continued spamming may result in further action.
  • Advertising other Minecraft servers, regardless of size, is strictly prohibited.
  • You may share links to personal content (YouTube, Imgur, Reddit, etc.), but you may not promote other servers in any way.

8. Team Members Have the Final Say #

  • The rules exist to keep Beacoland safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
  • If something disrupts this environment, the team will address it at their discretion.

Global Rules #

9. English-Only in Global Chat #

  • To ensure clear communication, only English is permitted in public chat.
  • Other languages may be used in private messages or local chat (/l).

10. Spawn Area Protection #

  • Do not mine, break blocks, chop trees, or otherwise alter the spawn area.
  • Building within 500 blocks of spawn is only allowed with team permission and must be lag-friendly.

11. Respect Other Players’ Space #

  • Build at least 200 blocks away from other players unless you have their permission.

12. Nether Portal & Tunnel Rules #

  • Nether tunnels must be a maximum of 9 blocks wide, including walls.
  • Tunnels must remain between the pillars of the main tunnel.
  • Tunnels must not block ice-boat paths.
  • All tunnel entrances must be slabbed.
  • All tunnels must be clearly labeled with the resident’s name.

13. The End Island #

  • Mining the obsidian platform is not allowed.
  • The main End island is a public area.
  • Farms and builds on the main End Island require team approval.

14. Streaming & Recording #

  • All streamers and content creators must enable the LIVE tag (/toggles).
  • This informs other players that they may be recorded or streamed.

Lag & Performance Rules #

15. Villager Breeders & Trading Halls #

  • Maximum 30 villagers per trading hall.
  • Maximum 3 villagers per breeder.
  • Villagers must be kept in 1×1 holding cells.
  • Avoid excessive hoppers and redstone near trading halls.
  • Trading halls should be built in unloaded chunks, at least 6+ chunks away from bases or other frequently loaded areas.

16. Large Farm Spacing #

  • Do not stack multiple large farms in a single area.
  • All large farms must have an off switch.
  • Large farms must be spaced out.
  • Avoid excessive hoppers; use chests, water streams, or droppers where possible.

17. Gold & XP Nether Portal Farms #

  • Maximum of 8 portal modules (23×23×23 each), or 82,000 portal blocks total.
  • Measures must be taken to prevent excessive piglin accumulation to reduce lag.

18. Chunk Loaders #

  • All chunk loaders must be reported to a team member.
  • Chunk loaders must have an off switch.
  • Only one chunk loader per player is allowed at any time.
  • Chunk loaders should not run unattended for extended periods.

19. AFK-ing #

  • AFK-ing at public farms is not allowed.
  • AFK-ing at private farms is permitted, provided the farm is lag-friendly.
  • If a farm is suspected of causing lag, a team member may kick players temporarily for testing purposes.

20. Entity Cramming #

  • Entity cramming is discouraged as a method for killing mobs.
  • If entity cramming is found to be causing lag, the team may require immediate changes, including a full redesign of the farm.

21. Moss-Based Bonemeal Farms #

  • Moss-based bonemeal farms are limited to a maximum of four dispensers for the moss production component.
  • Farms exceeding this limit, or multiple similar farms within the same loaded area, may cause lag.
  • You may be asked to reduce or remove such farms if they impact performance.

22. Intentional Lag Machines 🆕 #

  • Machines or contraptions designed specifically to cause lag, disrupt gameplay, or stress the server are strictly prohibited.
  • This includes intentionally unoptimized redstone, excessive entity generation, or similar setups created with the purpose of degrading performance.
  • The team may require the immediate removal or modification of such machines.

23. Alt Accounts #

  • Alt accounts are permitted but must be declared and registered with the team.
  • Using an undeclared alt account may result in the temporary suspension of all associated accounts.
  • During periods of increased lag or reduced performance, alt account usage may be temporarily restricted.
  • To register an alt account, submit an alt account ticket on Discord including:
    • The alt account name
    • The associated primary account name

24. Copper Golems 🆕 #

  • Copper Golems are limited to a maximum of 15 per chunk.
  • This limit is a starting point and may be adjusted in the future based on performance and server stability.
  • If Copper Golems are found to be contributing to lag, the team may request reductions or changes.

Temporary Performance Adjustments #

  • During periods of high player activity, season launches, or performance instability, the team may temporarily tighten or adjust performance-related rules to protect server stability.

Think “Us” Before “Me” #

Beacoland is a shared experience. Every player plays a part in keeping the server running smoothly.
By working together to reduce lag and respect each other’s space, everyone benefits from a better gameplay experience.
